In order to bid in the online auction you must be registered and have an official bidder number issued to you. You can get a bidder number by registering online at https://www.bidmaricopa.com between mid-January when the registration portion of the site goes live through the date of the auction on February 8th. How do I Participate in the 2010 Maricopa County Tax Lien Auction?
The auction takes place online. While the actual auction starts on Monday, February 8th, you may place bids as early as mid-January – however, no tax liens will be awarded until that specific lien’s official auction slot has passed.

How Does the Maricopa County Tax Lien Auction Work?
Tax liens are auctioned off in order of advertising number. The advertising number can be found in the newspaper listing for the auction or on the auction website.
Bidding for tax liens starts at a 16% interest rate and is bid down from there until no one is willing to take a lower interest rate. Bidding goes in full percent increments. In the event of a tie, there is a tie-breaking mechanism to grant the tax lien.
Will I Know in Advance Which Properties Will Have Their Tax Liens Sold at the 2010 Maricopa County Tax Lien Auction?
The list of all properties included in the sale will be released to the public no earlier than 3 weeks before the sale date of February 8, 2010 and no later than 2 weeks before the sale date. You can obtain the list in any of the following ways:

- You may view the list in person at the Maricopa County Treasurer’s office.
- The list will be available on the auction website.

How do I Pay for the Maricopa County Tax Liens That I Win at Auction?
As stated on the Maricopa County Treasurer’s website: "Bidders will receive an email invoice on February 8, 2010 indicating the total amount due, if any. All payments must be made via ACH Debit on the Payments Page of the Tax Sale Web site by no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 12, 2010. Failure to pay by that date results in the forfeiture of the deposit and makes the certificates available for re-sale."
